barrack obama has put his hand up for the 2008 US presidential race. is america ready for a black president? is it ready for a woman president? well, it will have to choose one or the other it seems - the upcoming presidential election will likely make history, as one of the above questions gets answered in the affirmative.
likely republican candidates, john mccain and mitt romney, are unlikely to win the presidential election, so it seems either mr obama or hillary clinton will be president number 44.
mrs clinton will likely win i believe, due to her massive accumulation of campaign funds, her now reasonably popular husband (recall the phrase "i'd rather have a president that fucks his intern than one that fuck's his country"), her resolve when sticking by the said husband, and her popular centrist policies (backflips, on occasions) on everything from health to the war in iraq.

how fucked is it that the one with the most campaign funds wins? there we go! a modern democracy's election bought and paid for ala Robert Mugabe style.
and i smell an Obama smear campaign underway and it will ramp up if on that set day in Feb he announces that he is in fact running. CNN "mistakely" put the caption, "Where Is Obama" against the backdrop of an Osama Bin Laden picture. Like Obama's publicist said, the "b" and the "s" keys are not close to each other on the keyboard. And in CNN's situation room, someone compared his dress sense to that of Iranian president. It's not only CNN, almost as much has been made about the man as has been about his name, Barrack Hussein Obama. no doubt more will be made to exploit american ignorance and fears should he run.
but i fear he & old cutie, Hillary will split the democratic vote and let another fascist, bigoted, borderline dictator into the white house -- perhaps run together? just my thought.
Hmmm... the only thing I have came across are racist jokes. Like "what do you say when you see your TV screen move in the middle of the night?", "Put it down Obama!". Then there are Fat Albert parodies like "Hey, hey, hey, it's Obama, Obama in the White House!"
Gosh...
as for winning a campaign, and anything else in a modern democracy...
laissez faire, laissez aller, laissez passer!
